Frameless Shower Screens Essendon
If you’re renovating a bathroom in Essendon or wanting to replace an existing old framed shower screen, a frameless shower screen is one of the most effective ways to create a clean and modern finish.
At Famous Frameless, we supply and install custom frameless shower screens in Essendon and surrounding suburbs such as Strathmore, Keilor East and Avondale Heights. Each screen measured and manufactured to suit the exact layout of your bathroom. Our installations use 10mm toughened safety glass and high-quality hardware to create a durable and minimalist glass enclosure.
Because every bathroom is different, we take final measurements after the wall tiles are completed to ensure the glass fits precisely with minimal clearances.

Types of frameless shower screens
Walk-in shower screens
A fixed glass panel without a door. These screens work well in larger bathrooms and create an open, modern look.
Hinged shower screens
A frameless glass door attached with solid brass hinges. This is one of the most common configurations for enclosed showers.
Sliding shower screens
Ideal where space is limited. Sliding glass doors allow the shower to remain fully enclosed without needing clearance for a door swing.
Full height shower screens
Some bathrooms use floor-to-ceiling glass panels to create a seamless architectural finish.
Custom made for each bathroom
Every shower screen we install in Essendon is custom measured and manufactured.
This ensures:
• precise fit between walls
• minimal gaps between glass panels and walls
• proper door operation
• neat silicone work
Our frameless shower screens are made from 10mm toughened safety glass, which provides strength while maintaining the clean appearance that frameless glass is known for.

Hardware finishes
We offer a wide range of finishes so the shower screen hardware can match tapware, towel rails and other bathroom fittings throughout the bathroom.
While the finish names may vary slightly between manufacturers, they generally match closely with popular tapware brands such as ABI Interiors, Caroma, Estelle, Meir, Nero and Yabby, allowing the shower screen hardware to integrate naturally with the rest of the bathroom fittings.

Black frame shower screen installation
Frameless shower screen installation in Essendon
The installation process typically follows these steps:
1. Bathroom tiling is completed
2. Final measurements are taken
3. Glass type and hardware is finalised
4. Glass and hardware orders are placed
5. Shower screen is installed and sealed
Because frameless glass requires precise tolerances, taking accurate measurements after tiling ensures the finished installation fits properly.

Frequently asked questions
Here are some of the most common questions people ask about frameless shower screens.
What is the standard height for a frameless shower screen?
The most common height for a frameless shower screen is around 2000–2100mm. This works well in bathrooms with standard ceiling heights of 2400–2500mm, providing good water containment while maintaining a balanced look.
However, all of our shower screens are made to order, so the height can be customised to suit the bathroom layout. In some cases the glass may be adjusted to line up with window heights, door openings, tile lines or other design features.
Do frameless shower screens leak?
When installed correctly, with proper seals and adequate floor falls in the shower base, frameless shower screens are designed to keep water contained within the shower area.
We measure and manufacture our shower screens with minimal clearances to reduce the chance of water escaping. Doors are fitted with PVC seals, and in most cases we also install a small water bar to help direct water back into the shower.
While frameless shower screens are very effective at containing water, they cannot be completely watertight due to the small clearances required for the door to operate properly.
Do frameless shower screens require maintenance?
Frameless shower screens generally require very little maintenance. Regular cleaning of the glass and occasional wiping of the seals and hardware is usually enough to keep the screen looking good and operating properly.
Over time, door seals may wear but can be easily replaced if required. Hinges very rarely need adjustment, but if the door does require adjustment during the warranty period, simply contact us and we will come out to correct it.
